Generally Recommended Vaccines for Cattle

FMD Vaccine

GENERALLY RECOMMENDED

Provides protection against Foot and Mouth Disease. Applied every 6 months in all age groups.

Application:

Applied as subcutaneous injection.

Booster doses may be required every 3 months in Eastern and Southeastern regions.

Anthrax Vaccine

GENERALLY RECOMMENDED

Provides protection against Anthrax. Applied once a year from 6 months of age.

Brucella Vaccine (Female Calves)

Provides protection against Brucellosis. Applied as single dose only to female calves aged 4-12 months.

IBR Vaccine

Protection against Infectious Bovine Rhinotracheitis. Prevents respiratory system infections.

BVD Vaccine

OPTIONAL

Protection against Bovine Viral Diarrhea. Reduces reproductive problems and deaths.

Application:

Applied as intramuscular injection.

Clostridial Diseases Vaccine

OPTIONAL

Provides protection against various clostridial diseases (blackleg, tetanus, etc.).

Application:

Applied as subcutaneous injection.

Notes:

Applied as 2 doses in the first year (4 weeks apart).

Paratuberculosis Vaccine

OPTIONAL

Protection against Johne's disease. Reduces disease risk in young animals.

Application:

Subcutaneous injection, single dose.

Notes:

Recommended in farms where disease is prevalent.

Regional Vaccination Differences

Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia

FMD risk is high in these regions. Booster doses of FMD vaccine may be recommended every 3 months instead of 6 months. Consult your veterinarian.
